Handling of Personal Information in Inquiries

1. Basic policy on handling personal information
   • The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (“NICT” hereinafter) rigorously manages the handling of personal information obtained from individuals during the course of our activities. We take all due measures to prevent the leakage, misappropriation, and alternation of personal information.

3. How we use personal information

   We use personal information for the following purposes related to inquiries:

   • To respond to inquiries
   • To create statistical data on inquiries and responses, which we then disclose
   • To improve operations related to the inquiry form
   • For analysis to improve user satisfaction and service quality
   • For research activities; to plan exhibitions, events, seminars, lectures, training programs, and other events; and to prepare invitation to such events
4. How we handle retained personal information
   • Unless otherwise required by laws and regulations, we do not provide retained personal information to third parties without the advance consent of the individual in question. To ensure safe and appropriate handling, we manage all personal information in accordance with our personal information protection regulations.

5. How long we retain personal information
   • We delete personal information as soon as reasonable grounds for retention cease to exist; for example, when the purpose of use is achieved.


6. Disclosure of personal information retained
   • Upon request by the individual in question, we will notify the purpose of use of the personal information retained; disclose the information retained; correct, add, or delete this information; or discontinue use of such retainedinformation (collectively “Disclosure, etc.” hereinafter).
